  1. Hi Steven,
Very nice. I can feel that strong breeze. Am I mistaken, or did you use a different color palette for this? It's a very successful painting and I'd never guess it was so small.
    Well Done!
    Sincerely,
    Gary.

    1. Hello Gary,
Thanks! This was done at "Fort Fisher" one of my favorite places along the North Carolina Outer Banks shoreline. There's always a strong ocean breeze there that has formed these wonderful trees as they have grown and survived the prevailing winds. My palette is basically the same as usual-I think I may have added some veridian into the usual mix and reintroduced burnt umber, a color that I haven't been using in awhile
      Thanks for stopping by
      Steven.

  2. It has been a while since I stopped by. I am very impressed with your elegant mandalas and these poetic tree renderings. The sizes surprised me too. The landscapes seem larger. Beautiful work Steve. --it's funny you mentioning you hadn't used burnt umbra for a while; that's all I'm using these days I've gone monochromatic!

    1. Hi Linda
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I had such a good time through the process of creating the mandalas and then venturing into that realm. I mounted each one of them on a black background suspended within a deep shadowbox.
I never get bored with trees/landscapes and will always continue to pursue interpreting them large or small format.
      Steven
