New Home for Art

It's been over a month since I've posted anything new (other than sketches) on this blog.  I've been busy while happily creating what I'm sharing tonight.  The largest painting required ordering new supplies (heavy canvas and stretcher braces), constructing stretchers with notched cross braces and stretching the canvas.  I must admit, I really do enjoy the process and Zen-like aspects of preparing my own substrates.  The next most wonderful joy of all this was knowing that my clients gave me freedom of expression with their only criteria being: "make them totally non-objective and use 'these' colors".  Well that was like saying here's the key to the universe, now go and have some fun!  So, I set about my adventure at hand and joyfully created!  The paintings were delivered and hung today with exuberant exclamations of pleasure from one of their owners (this would be the wife as the husband was on an airplane returning from New York).  So, in this exquisitely and lovingly refined older Southern home these two paintings have come to rest; or maybe perform!
