Lately, watercolor has been the medium of choice for my creating.  Here's our garden in mid-summer at the peak of bloom.

"Reflections at Mill Creek"

I did this painting about a year ago when the leaves had started to turn. The water sparkled with the beautiful Fall palette.

"Six New Ducklings"

What is it about babies?  These six little ones are clustered to face their new world together.  One is larger than all the others.  Maybe he is going to be their protector.

"Pink Hollyhocks"

Standing taller than almost all the other flowers in the garden,  these pink hollyhocks make a joyful statement!  The varying shades of pink delight the eye with some being very bright and others delicate in their tones.

"Hydrangeas by the Fence"

The hydrangeas have been lovely this year.  It's always interesting to watch them change colors from blues to lavenders to pinks and finally to wonderful green tones as they mature through the season.

"Poppies at Reynolda Gardens"

Poppies are always a delight to see!  I painted these using a palette knife.

"Wetland Beauty"

At Reynolda Gardens here in Winston-Salem, what used to be Lake Katherine filled in over the years with silt and run-off from the surrounding landscape and was left to become this wetland.  One of my favorite times to see this area is during the early morning hours as the rising sun casts light across the landscape.

"Summer at Mill Creek"

Continuing with my Mill Creek Series of paintings, here's summer at the creek.  I liked the way the light was coming through the trees and  lighting the far bank.
