"Marsh at Fort Fisher"

A cold and windy November day when I did this painting. This was the first time that I used my new French easel (a gift from my sister Peggy). I had to hold on tight to everything so that nothing would blow away! All in all a very satisfying experience to be in the moment and to be pleased with my finished creation. My set-up location was just behind one of NC's fabulous state aquariums, which would be just the right in this composition and to the left, just over the dunes, is the Atlantic Ocean.

"Sunlight on the Cape Fear"

One day while driving down the road closest to the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC, I discovered this wonderful spot right on the river. I was so enamored by the bright sunlight with it's head-on glare on the water. I tried to capture that in this painting. A very peaceful and pleasant experience for me.

"Cape Lookout Summer"

I really enjoy traveling/relaxing/painting along the North Carolina coast. I did this painting on "Core Banks" on a very hot June day while fighting the flies and desperately trying to shelter myself from the hot sun under a very typical, not so shading pine tree on the island. The beauty of the spot and the history motivated me to paint this, my second ever light house painting!

"Langdon House 1764"

While engaged in this early morning painting, I could faintly hear the chatter of birds in the garden and guests breakfasting on the porches of this B and B in the quaint historic town of Beaufort, NC. So many beautiful old homes and a strong sense of "spirits past" present here.
